The Benefits Unit advises, administers, and provides services to employees in areas such as benefit enrollment, retirement and insurance plans, worker’s compensation, and tax-deferred products. This unit also administers other benefits such as leaves, and tuition reimbursements/waivers.

Creative Child Center

The Creative Child Center offers day care services to employees and members of the community. The Center is licensed for 107 children between the ages of six weeks and five years. The hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Employment Services

The Employment Services Unit provides services to internal and external customers, including initial assistance with general inquiries for recruitment, hiring, employment, new employee orientation, employee relations, retention, classification/compensation, separation, immigration and naturalization.

Information Management

The Information Management Unit is responsible for implementing, setting standards for maintaining Human Resources information and employee records, longevity payments and bargaining unit pay increases. The unit also provides reporting services to all levels of management.

Labor Relations

The Labor Relations Unit is responsible for the administration of collective bargaining at the Health Center, including: interpretation of contract provisions, grievance handling, negotiations, labor-management meetings, investigations, discipline, and training in related areas.

Organization and Staff Development

The Organization and Staff Development Unit develops, delivers and evaluates compliance training, and professional management and organizational development. In addition, the unit is responsible for the Know Better Place culture initiative.

Payroll

The Payroll Unit is responsible for processing employee payments on a bi-weekly basis, including regular pay, lump-sum payments for separating employees, workers’ compensation checks, and other pay due employees. In addition, the Payroll Unit assists employees with changes to pay, such as tax status, direct deposit, and other employee pay deductions.
